Synopsis

Alaskan Sojourn: a psychological adventure . suspense thriller (in screenplay format.)
Fact: In Alaska, there are families that live way out in the middle of nowhere. The state, by law, is required to provide these families with a teacher who lives with them while teaching.
This story is about a burnt out teacher from Los Angeles who seeks solace by taking such a teaching opportunity in Alaska. The problem? He soon discovers that the father of the family that he is dropped off with is unstable, having disturbing swings of mood, often becoming harsh, belligerent, and dangerous,. Tension and pulse pounding events are the result.
The irony of the story is that this teacher runs away from his problems only to end up facing his same issues in Alaska, as well as a new life-threatening situation, coming full-circle in the process.
The tension and story simplicity are reminiscent, in feel, to a Dead Calm type of script, but set in the Alaskan wilderness rather than the open sea, the isolation factor visibly different yet the story is the same in the self-reliance it engenders in the story’s protagonist, who, being an urban man adds an additional fish out of water element. Certain scenes are purposely designed to be disturbing.
